My goal with this is to become less dependent on Google drive and save some monthly fees. Currently at 2.5 TB on storage because I consolidated one drive and aws. Lots of duplicating files to sort.
I have two 4TB desktop drives laying around so why not use them.
Had a nice cook out at Grandma’s this weekend.
Shawna, Kesha Bryan and the boys showed up.
Grandma had the spread and I grilled some burgers and dogs. Grandma really seemed to like the chicken thigh on the grill too.
Tyler played with Isaak and Ethan. Catch and building a TP.
Tyler even learned how to whittle with a knife.

Last night was ruff.
Woke up to some girl sitting outside of our room. Crying and punching herself in the face then calling someone and it soundes like she was trying to blame someone for punching her.
Then the birds started chirping at 3:30 am like it was time to get up. Birds don’t care about daylight savings time!
The house cleaning people are outside complaining about a nickel rais to clean bathrooms.
Don’t work in a ghetto travel Lodge motel.
For us I guess we should pick nicer motels next time.

Tyler Giggles
Dear Tyler,
Today you giggled for the first time. I mean a full out belly laugh! You smile constantly, but daddy and I have been waiting to hear you laugh. I felt silly making funny faces and noises, but you loved it and kept giggling at me.
I love you, baby boy.

Tyler Rolls Over
Dear Tyler,
You rolled over for the very first time on Mother’s Day! What an awesome Mother’s Day gift. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see it, but Bailey and Makenna did.
Two days later, you did it for me! I had just gotten you out of the bathtub and was drying you off on the floor. You don’t like being on your tummy. You were getting so mad and then you finally kicked yourself over. The look on your face was priceless. You had surprised yourself with your new amazing trick!
I love you, baby boy.

Longboat Key final Sunset
We sat out on the beach with the rest of the sun worshippers and waited for the sun to set one final time on our vacation. And it didn’t disappoint us.
Longboat Key Day 5
Final day of our vacation. It has been a very relaxing vacation for Gina and I. Today was the first day that we actually did something organized. We went to the Mote Marine aquarium.
Longboat Key Day 4
Today was pretty lazy. We drove up the coast this morning to Anna Maria Island to check out our surroundings. Then we ate lunch at the blue dolphin. The same place we met Greg for lunch. On our trip north we spotted a carry out chinese restaurant.
Supplemental Insurance
We saw this on our way into Long Boat Key. Hope this guy had good insurance.
Longboat Key Day 3
So I told Gina. Let’s use the charcoal grills that they supply and make steaks. They will be better than anything we buy and the view is un beatable.
Longboat Key Day 2
Today was our first full day here. Tyler did really well all night. He only got up twice to eat. Three and Six-Thiry.
We got up and met one of Gina’s friends at the Blue Dolphine for breakfast.
LongBoat Key Day 1
Tyler did really well on the flight out. He basically slept the whole time. The fight was a little bumpy but it really didn’t take that long to get here. Basically about 4 hrs of travel by the time I parked and we walked into the room.
Photogenic Tyler
Using the 50mm Lens to take pictures of Tyler has captured some really good shots verses using the iPhone and making the Facebook shots. We still need to work on lighting and getting creative with some low buck lighting.
Our Hospital Stay
Dear Tyler,
You and I had to stay in the hospital for 48 hours following your birth. Daddy stayed with us the first night, sleeping on the fold-out couch in our room. I decided to let you stay in the nursery as I was very sleep deprived and exhausted. It was a long night as the nurses came in to check on me and push on my belly to check on my uterus every couple of hours. They brought you in to the room so that I could feed you whenever you were hungry.
Tyler Enters the World!
Dear Tyler,
We were scheduled to be at the hospital by 6am for our induction. Your daddy thought that was awful early and joked with me as to whether he could just meet me over there a little later in the morning. 🙂 Don’t worry…he was just kidding. He wouldn’t have missed your birth for anything.
Start of Induction
Gina and I got to the hospital a little after 6:00 am this morning. Gina was a little nervous. She asked if I was nervous. I said not really. 3rd time is a charm. She said yeah your not pushing a bowling ball out today.

The Pregnancy
Dear Tyler,
You were my 3rd pregnancy and I wasn’t sure what to expect since my other two were so completely different. Was I going to be throwing up the entire nine months like I did with Bailey or was I going to have trouble with pre term labor like I did with Makenna or was this going to be another unique experience? Well you ended up being another unique experience! Full of fun and adventure (most of the time…). At age 40, I was on the older end to be doing this again, but I still felt so young. Your daddy said that I looked at least 5 years younger very soon after getting pregnant. I’m sure some of it was the pregnancy hormones and some of it was just plain being happy and excited. One thing I knew for sure, I wanted to enjoy every single second of the pregnancy.
Nate’s Appendectomy
I was 37 weeks along and anticipating giving birth at any time as I had been having lots of contractions each evening. On Sunday, December 18th, Nate lounged around all day. He was not feeling well at all and had a pain just below his sternum. We assumed it must have been something he had eaten.

First Brew Taste
After the long wait and anticipation of our first beer brew, the time finally came to sample the fruits of our labor.
We went to Myrtle Beach again this year for the July 4th celebration. It was about a 12 hour drive from Indy. Other than a wreck that cost us 45min, the trip was pretty uneventful.
We came down the Saturday before and left the following Saturday. We watch fireworks at the beach again. Still the best fireworks display. Beats anything Indy has to offer.
Day at the Beach
We are at the beach today.
The water is warm and the sand is hot. There is a nice breeze comming off of the ocean.
The temp is close to 95 and pretty humid.
The kids are body surfing and heather just took a big spill swallowing half the ocean.
We had subs from rosita but they are not as good as the sub shop from last year.
Gina looks like she is enjoying time with her mom soaking up the sun and letting the water run up to their feet.
After the beach, we are heading back to Ramano’s for dinner.
Good times ……

We’re Pregnant!
Dear Tyler,
On May 3rd, we found out we were expecting you. I had been feeling a little weird for a couple of days, so I was a little suspicious, but didn’t want to take a pregnancy test too soon. That day, I bought a pregnancy test on my way to work and was so anxious to know the results, that I took the test at work. Almost immediately, the results came back positive!!! I remember feeling so overwhelmed, but in a good way. We wanted you and had planned for you, but it was still so shocking that it had all happened so quickly.
I went through my work day in a daze. I didn’t want to tell your daddy I was pregnant over the phone or by email or text message, so I knew I would have to keep my secret until that evening. After work, I stopped by the store and bought a cute little baby outfit that said “Daddy Loves Me” and wrapped it up. When your daddy got home from work, I handed him the package. His birthday had just been 5 days earlier, so he thought I was giving him another birthday gift. When he opened it and saw the baby outfit, he looked confused at first and then once it all hit him, he must have said “wow” about 100 times. He was so happy and overwhelmed. It was a very special moment for us. Your daddy and I love each other very much, so we were more than excited to add you to our family. You would be joining big sister Bailey who was 18, but who would turn 19 by the time you were born, big sister Makenna who was 14 and big sister Heather who was 12.
Your due date was January 11, 2012 which seemed forever away.
We told your sisters that we were going to have a baby over dinner a couple of days after we found out. They were all SO excited and were hoping desperately that you would be a boy. Next we told both sets of grandparents and then slowly started telling the rest of our friends and family. Everyone was so excited for us and couldn’t wait for you to get here.
Love, Mommy
We had our first cook out of the season this weekend.

Heather’s Accident
Heather had an accident on her bike this afternoon.
Gina and Makenna and I had just sat down for Sunday dinner and I had just taken my first bite of food when Tammy called.
She was crying and upset. She said Heather had wrecked her bike and that her eye was swollen shut and she had two big cuts under her eye.
This year we hosted new years eve again. Gina made Italian roast beef in the crock pot and focaccia bread from scratch. She also made bake Ziti. We played Catch Phrase and Guestures. Continue reading »
Bologna Story by Heather
The Odd Story
By Heather Battinich
Part 1
Once upon a time there was a bologna sandwich that hated every thing food wise.
He was a picky eater so badly that he ate …
His Brother!!!!!!!!!!!
Part 2
He was arrested of course but he escaped. He had to remove his bread.
That was a little embarrassing, ’cause for bologna sandwiches bread is clothes.
The buff sandwiches are ham. The tan ones were wheat bread, and the insiders are white bread.
Da Homie G’s are pumpernickel.
Part 3
He was never caught. he wasn’t recognized at the local beaches either.
He was very sly and creative but then the giants came and guess what he couldn’t do …
He cant run like the others so he got …
Eaten!!!!!!!!!!
Microbrewer Fest 2009
Lisa and I went to the beer fest again this year. We focused mainly on the darker beers this year.
Porters and stouts were at the top of list.
Gina’s Uncle Ramano invited us over for Hamburgers and hotdogs one night.
He was a nice guy and pretty good with a grill. I was impressed with how clean his garage was and his Harley’s were spotless.
Myrtle Beach Vacation 2009 – 4th of July at the Beach
This year we went to Myrtle Beach South Carolina for our family vacation.
It was about a 13 hour drive from Indy.
We ended up staying with Gina’s Aunt Elizabeth. She had a great place with plenty of room for all of us.
We decided to do some putt putt. The theme was captain hook and the lost boys.
The competition was fierce.
I got a new gas powered blower for the yard and a Flip Ultra HD. So Gina capture me using the blower in HD.
Moonbeams for Heather
Mom sent this to Heather in the mail the other day.
I thought is was cool that she was inspired to put her thoughts about Heather to paper and send it to her.
Here is her poem.
Today we went to Climb Time as part of Makenna’s birthday party.
We all had a pretty fun time. Gina and I were belaying for the girls.
I went and got a harness after I saw how much fun they were having.
I enjoyed it except for repelling back down. Gina left a little too much slack in the rope for my comfort. It felt like you could fall at any minute.
This weekend we met up with Jake’s clan and went camping at the Riverbend camp grounds. The Weather was perfect and we managed to get two spots right on the river.
Jake was already set up and had drowned a few worms friday evening by the time we got there.
I started setting up our new tent and found out that the zipper to the front was broken right out of the box.
I was able to McGiver a temp fix with a fishing hook, a fishing weight and some fishing line.
I guess the Cub Scouts Finally paid off.
Hound Stock
The Carmel High School put on a concert with all the local high school bands jamming. They all tried to play as many songs as they could in their time slot.
Bailey’s boyfriend was the drummer in one of the bands. They managed to get in 4 songs I think. They were pretty good. I was impressed with the number of high school bands playing
Bailey made her own shirt for the occasion.
Goof'n Around
The girls were playing around this weekend and put on a bit of a show. They danced and lip synced to Michel Jackson to Hip Hop. It was pretty entertaining.
Heather's 10th Birthday
Heather’s 10th birthday was Sat May 2nd. We had a party for her and I also let her invite two of her girlfriends over to spend the night. She ended up having three girls over plus Makenna. That meant we had four screaming girls in the house.
They had a good time playing hide and seek, Guitar Hero, and just rocking out to the stereo. They also painted sun catchers and we watched Hotel for Dogs and the movie Bolt.
Michelle's Visit
Michelle came back to Indy today to run in the Mini Marathon. I think she said it was her tenth year doing it. It was good to see her. I think it has been over a year since I last saw her.
We all met up tonight at Fionn MacCooly’s Irish pub in fishers. I had a couple Guinness. Which hit the spot after a frustrating day at work. Robert, Jill, Cindy, and Jack were able to join us. It was great to sit around and talk about the good old days at the Gaming Commission
Going for the Bling
Gina put together a surprise birthday party for me. She put a lot of work into it.
She was at a disadvantage because she hadn’t met all of my friends yet and didn’t have their contact information.
She put her PI skills to good use and managed to gather everyone’s info.
Grandma, Kesha and Brian and kids were there. Along with Dad, Sharon, Jake, Shawna, and Timi.
Even Jill and Lisa were able to attend. Heather, Makenna and Bailey were on hand also to participate.

Windows XP: How to format a Drive as Fat32
I was trying to format an external harddrive to be used with my Mac and Windows XP machines.
Mac must have Fat32 to be able to exchange information with another Windows machine.
Windows XP will not allow you to format a new drive as Fat 32. It can read a drive up to 2TB but will not allow you to create one.
The work around is to mount the drive as a logical drive and assign it a letter, but not format it if it is a disk that has never been formatted. If it has a drive letter already you can skip this part. To mount the drive right click My computer and then select manage. Then select Disks / Drives. Right click on the drive select create logical drive.
Once this is done open a DOS command window (Start button/run type cmd) and type format g: /FS:FAT32 Where g: is the logical drive letter you assigned when you mounted the drive.

Happy New Year 2009
This year Jake and his family came over to celebrate the new year. I made hot meat and taco meat and we all ate too much. Everyone had a good time dancing and singing and shooting some pool. Steven kept us laughing with his one liners and Jacob stole the show with his break dancing move the worm. It was good to see Jesse again and Shelby was texting and talking on the phone all night to her gay boyfriend.
It’s been a long time coming. I finally graduated from college.
I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University this December.
The last four classes seemed to never end. I thought I saved the easy ones for last but I was wrong!
I had so much writing and research to do. More than was typically required for the core classes.
But it’s over.
We had a small get together afterwards at my house. It was good to see everyone.
