Microbrewer Fest 2009

Lisa and I went to the beer fest again this year. We focused mainly on the darker beers this year.
Porters and stouts were at the top of list.

Here is our scientific Scoring system. 3 Stars being the best

1 star: Barley Island–Dirty Helen Brown; New Albanian Brewing–15-B Porter; Brooklyn Brewing–Brown; Rogue–Shakespeare Stout

2 stars: Barley Island–Single White Friar (Belgian strong dark); Brugge–Bruno; Granite City Brewery–Brother Benedict Bock and Wag’s Wheat, Rock Bottom Downtown–Schwarzhacker Black Lager; Upland Brewing–Chocolate Stout aged in 23-yo Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon barrels (a bit strong); Left Hand Brewing–Imperial Stout; Lafayette Brewing–Black Angus Oatmeal Stout

3 stars (the best): New Albanian–Scotch Cask conditioned Community Dark Mild; Power House Brewing–Deisel Oil Stout; Left Hand Brewing–Milk Stout
